This page provides an overview of weekly changes done to the web pages.
Week 1:
I created 4 different webpages (namely index.html, person.html, hobbies.html, and studies.html) and interlinked each of them through hyperlinks.
Week 2:
I created an additional webpage, namely the log page, and started formatting all my previously created webpages through an external CSS stylesheet I created. I added DIV blocks to all my previous pages to format them accordingly. Furthermore, I added a navigation bar to each webpage.
Week 3:
I used the image that was already on my "Basis Info" webpage, and cropped it by using photopea. I then made sure the file size did not exceed 100kb. I used this cropped version of the image to create a facemap, in which I mapped my eyes, mouth and sunglasses, which I connected to different links of things I enjoy. I added a small description of this below the picture, so that website visitors may be aware of this feature. I then further cropped this image and reduced the image size, in order to use it as a thumbnail on my index (home) page. This thumbnail acts as a link to the "Basic Info" page. I added two extra thumbnails to may homepage, that serve as additional links to the Hobbies and Studies page.
Week 4:
This week I added a new webpage called "Stracciatella ice cream dish". I made sure to make this page search engine friendly, by using a good amount of text on my page, which also includes the title term. I added an image of the dish and changed the alt text, so it matched the title term. I also linked the source of the original recipe and included the title term in this link. Additionally I added a meta description and keywords to the code of the page.
Week 5:
In week 5, I focused on and adjusted the design of the webpages. I ensured all the pages would have the same layout, which I did with the help of a container/ wrapper. I also made sure the navigational structure is clearly marked, 'above the fold' and identical on every page. I conducted a color contrast check, which the webpages passed, and made all the webpages' text a sans-serif font. I made sure the text is left-aligned and limited to a width of 545.
Week 6:
In week 6 I created a Web Usability Review of Catalina Gangu's website. I made sure to touch on points of navigational structure, scannability, and design and readability of the page. I also included some tips that I think might be useful to implement, to futher improve the usability of the website.
