The Award
What is the award?
The Least Media Literate Award is an award extended to those with the worst takes on the internet. Those that do not have good takes on media they consume and its content or those that cannot look past the basic, surface-level themes of stories.
How is the winner decided?
The award is decided through a 70/30 split between our carefully selected group of judges and an audience vote.
The judges are selected from Media studies professors from the university of Groningen. They are screened for any biases by our organisation and are selected based on having a diverse judges with differing opinions that can calmly discuss who is the worst.
The judges base their votes on social media posts that have been posted publicly by the nominees. They base their votes on how bad the nominee is at identifying themes and ideas that are not explicitly shown or clearly hinted at within media and how bad their takes on the media they consume are.
What can be won?
The winner wins the award itself, and 5000 euros to be given any charity of their choosing.
