We kick the day off with our main debate: Established Media vs. Social Media. There are many differences between established media and social media. For this debate we have invited several speakers, from Marshall McLuhan to Kylie Jenner, and even the inventor of one of the world's biggest social media platforms: Facebook's own Mark Zuckerberg!

Social Media is a better source for information because it is not regulated.

After the debate there is time to hang out in the NOK, the café of the Forum rooftop, and talk to the debaters. During the break there will be free coffee, tea and food available for people with an all-day pass.

Since the come of the smartphones, citizen journalism has gotten more and more normal. Citizen journalism is the activity of recording or writing about news stories by ordinary people, rather than by trained reporters. There is a trend towards citizen journalism, with news channels and newspapers encouraging people to send in their videos.

Nowadays there are more and more gossip channels emerging on social media platforms. The opening statements of this debate will be by controversial Dutch juice channel owner Yvonne Coldeweijer (opposition) and RTL News adjunct-chief editor Mireille van Ark (proposition).
