ingredients

  1. Heavy cream: Cold, straight from the fridge.
  2. Milk: Whole milk is creamier, but any milk works.
  3. Sugar: From ½ to ¾ cup, to taste.
  4. Salt: A pinch balances the sweetness.
  5. Vanilla: Adds a warm flavor and aroma.
  6. Chocolate: Traditional stracciatella uses chopped chocolate, but chips work too.

steps

  1. Ice Bath: Fill a large bowl with ice. Place the Ninja Creami pint in the center, with ice up to the fill line.
  2. Mix: In a saucepan over low heat, whisk all ingredients (except chocolate) until sugar dissolves.
  3. Cool: Pour the mixture into the pint container and set it in the ice bath to cool.
  4. Freeze: Cover and freeze for 24 hours.
  5. Process: Place the frozen pint in the Ninja Creami and select Ice Cream mode (1-2 minutes).
  6. Add chocolate: Make a hole in the ice cream, pour in chocolate shavings, and use Mix-In mode.
  7. Enjoy: Serve your stracciatella ice cream dish immediately or freeze it for later.
