Website Progress 👩🏻💻
In this page, I explain and update the journey of improving and expanding my website.
Week 1
I started by creating four HTML pages: one as the main home page and three others as separate sections. These sections appeared as hyperlinks on my website to connect viewers to different areas. I devised names for each section, added content such as images and text, and further edited them by assigning various styles to each paragraph (e.g., adjusting font and size).
Week 2
I created a navigation bar using the same sections from week one and developed an external stylesheet. Using the stylesheet, I gave my website a consistent design with the same background, font style, colors, etc., throughout the site. I also researched various websites for an overview of the options available in external stylesheets to enhance the visual appearance of the "Logo" and the navigation bar, making them more aesthetically pleasing.
Week3
This week, I chose a selfie portrait of myself, cropped it to 200x200, saved it as a thumbnail, and added it to my homepage. This picture is linked to the "All About Me ✨" page, where I also added the original version, slightly resized to fit better and look nice. I then created an image map, linking specific parts of the picture to websites related to my interests. My lips are linked to a food recipe, my eyes to my favorite show, and both of my ears to my favorite artist's page on Spotify.
Week 4
For this week, I added a new page to my website titled "Stracciatella Ice Cream." I created the page from scratch, following the same style as the other pages on my site. I carefully crafted the content, ensuring the use of the phrase "Stracciatella Ice Cream" as well as synonyms and related terms. Additionally, I included an image and an external link to a website about this ice cream. I made sure to optimize the page for SEO to the best of my ability!
Week5
In this week, I focused solely on the design of my website, aiming to make it more user-friendly and structured. I fixed incorrect codes and applied the tasks mentioned in the assignment. I added a "Home" option to the navigation bar, which leads users to the home page. Additionally, I added a container and fixed the width of the content to make it more browser-friendly.
Week 6
This week, I focused on making my website more user-friendly. I optimized the image sizes to prevent slow loading times and improved navigation by highlighting the active page to help users track their location on the site. Additionally, I reviewed another student's website and created a new page for my review, maintaining the same structure as my other pages. I then added this page to the navigation bar for easy access.
