About the Groningen University Institute for the Development of Education

We are a non-profit organisation affiliated with the University of Groningen, bringing together visionaries from the fields of academia, education, and communication. Founded in April 2022, we've grown into a small but passionate team of four staff members and several dedicated volunteers.

Johanna "Hanny" B. Smith

Director at 050Learn.nl. Hanny maintains an impressive social network and tries to attend every educational event in Groningen. People love her boundless enthusiasm for the city and its charm. When she’s not working (a rare sight), she moonlights as a part-time photographer. Her prize-winning local snapshots reveal her remarkable eye for detail.

Temyra "The Face" Peckleton

Temyra is a part-time lecturer at the University of Groningen with a love for daily challenges. Known as “The Face” for her natural talent in attracting media attention, she shines a spotlight on every project she touches.

Helen Madeline Murdow

Helen Madeline "Maddie" Murdow

A lecturer at the Faculty of Arts by day—and a helicopter pilot by... well, also by day. Maddie is highly active on social media, where her Instagram account has amassed over 19,000 followers. Her content features scenic chopper flights over Groningen and the occasional invitation for her fans to join her for a ride.

Barbara "B.A." Baracchi

Our newest team member, Barbara is fascinated by all things tech and is rarely seen without a glass of milk in hand. As a Communication student, she launched a gadget-repair YouTube channel—now boasting over 41,000 subscribers.
